Supplier Membership Program Pricing
Ariba takes a unique approach to seller pricing: You can try the program and realize significant benefits — such as increased sales, greater visibility into customer processes, reduced process costs, and on-time payment — before you buy. You pay only after you begin to benefit from higher levels of business, attaining chargeable thresholds of both transaction volume and document counts. These thresholds are:
- Five documents annually. Documents are defined as purchase order and invoice documents. You do not pay for change orders, order confirmations, advance ship notices, invoice and payment status reports, and other documents.
- Annual transaction volume of 50,000 USD. Transaction volume is defined as the total dollar value of spend transacted over the Ariba Network. We calculate this by adding up the value of purchase orders received plus non-PO-based invoices sent across the Ariba Network. PO-based invoices sent via the Ariba Network are not included in transaction volume. This is done to avoid double counting. However, in some cases, your total invoice value (both PO-based and non-PO-based invoices), rather than PO value plus non-PO-based invoice value, may be used to determine fees.
And, you're never locked into participation by paying a large start-up fee or prepayments for documents transacted. Ariba doesn't do that because we're confident that once you begin working with your customers on the Ariba Network, you'll stay with us. Just like 99 percent of all sellers doing business on the Ariba Network.
Fee Assessment
Fees are assessed as a small percentage (0.155 percent, or 15 1/2 cents per 100 USD purchase order) of qualifying relationship transactions.
On the first day of each month, Ariba analyzes the trailing 12-month activity of each of your transacting relationships to determine whether any have crossed both chargeable thresholds. If so, the relationship is deemed chargeable and a payment notification is generated. The initial notification date becomes your master anniversary date. Depending on when your relationship crosses the chargeable thresholds, you may be billed on an annual or a quarterly basis.
Customer relationships with fewer than five documents per year or transaction volume of less than 50,000 USD annually will be exempt from all SMP fees, regardless of how many low-volume customer relationships you have on the Ariba Network.
Integration Fee
Ariba charges an annual subscription fee of 495 USD per Ariba Network Identification (ANID) number for sellers benefitting from B2B integration or catalog technology usage with customers; specifically, accounts using CIF, PunchOut, cXML, and/or EDI. This fee is more than offset by the increased ROI this integration provides, as well as the Seller Technical Support made available to you, which normally costs 1,000 USD per year. The integration fee is subsumed by the 20,000 USD volume cap.
Volume Caps
To make sure your high-volume relationships are not penalized, Ariba caps annual fees at 20,000 USD per relationship.
Corresponding SMP Package Pricing
If you have no qualifying customer relationships, you qualify for the Basic package. If you have one or more qualifying relationships, your account will be automatically upgraded. Ariba looks at your transaction volume, number of documents, use of integration technology, and catalog usage to determine which package will best meet your needs. Options are:
- Business package: 50,000 USD or more in annual transaction volume AND five or more documents per year AND no catalog or integration technology
- Integrated package: 50,000 USD or more in annual transaction volume AND five or more documents per year AND use of catalog (CIF, PunchOut) or integration (cXML, EDI) technology
- Enterprise package: 5M USD or more in annual transaction volume AND five or more documents per year AND two or more customers
If your volume needs change, just let us know and we'll work with you to adjust your account.
